The longest floodlit toboggan
- When is the longest floodlit toboggan run open?
Depending on the snow and weather conditions, the toboggan run is open from about mid-December to early/mid-March.
Last lift up: 4:15 p.m.
On Fridays, lift service is extended until 6:30 p.m., depending on the weather, using the Smaragdbahn.
The entire length of the toboggan run is floodlit daily (except Mondays until 6 p.m.) until 10 p.m. After 10 p.m. the track is closed to all traffic.
Every Monday from 6 p.m., extensive preparation work is carried out in order to ensure the best possible conditions for tobogganing.The opening hours/status of all toboggan runs can be found >here<
- How much does a day of tobogganing cost?
The fees for toboggan tickets (single or all-day tickets) can be found on our fee page!
Tickets include the ride up on the Wildkogel Lifts as well as use of the toboggan run.
- Is use of the toboggan run included in the ski pass?
A valid ski pass from the Wildkogel-Arena can, of course, be used for lift rides up the mountain until 4:15 pm.
However, evening service (lift ascents after 4:15 pm) is not included in the ski pass.
- Is my dog allowed to accompany me on the toboggan run?
Unfortunately, dogs must stay at home during your sledding adventure.
The risk of collisions is simply too great.
- Are toboggans available for rent?
At and around the valley station of the Smaragdbahn, there are several sports and rental shops.

- Do toboggans need to be reserved ahead of time?
We recommend reserving toboggans for larger groups in advance.

- Can I bring along my own sled?
Of course, you are also welcome to use your own sled on our toboggan runs.
- Can I walk up the toboggan run on foot?
The toboggan run is NOT a hiking trail and is always heavily frequented. Therefore, hiking on the toboggan run is not recommended.
- Why is the toboggan run lit up until 10:00 PM, but the last lift up the mountain is already at 4:15 PM?
The mountain restaurants and huts also want to give you a culinary treat or two. One or more cold or hot drinks are certain to make your evening sledding expedition even more fun 😉 .

- What types of ski passes are available?
The Wildkogel Lifts offer daily as well as multi-day ski passes, you-pick-the-day passes, along with combo ski passes (Zillertal Arena, SuperSkiCard).

- Is there a ski bus?
A ski bus network in Neukirchen and Bramberg and a ski bus connection between Uttendorf and the Zillertal Arena ensure rapid arrival and departure for skiers and sledders.

- Are ski passes refundable?
Bad weather, avalanche danger, unexpected premature departure, operational interruptions, partial, complete, or officially ordered closure of slopes or facilities, etc., do not entitle you to a refund or extension of the ski pass.
A refund is only possible in the event of an accident or illness. The medical certificate and the ski pass must be presented at the ticket window immediately.
- Can ski passes be exchanged or transferred to a partner?
A subsequent exchange for a different ski pass, an extension, or a postponement of the validity period are not possible.
Ski passes are not transferable.
- Is there a hiking trail in the ski area?
Right in the ski area itself, there is a winter hiking trail away from the ski slopes that connects the mountain stations of the Smaragdbahn, Wildkogelbahn, and Gensbichlalmbahn lifts.
Walking time: approx. 1 hour (one way)

- What activities are available in winter?
In addition to skiing, tobogganing, and winter hiking, the Wildkogel-Arena offers some other beautiful options:
- Horse-drawn sleigh rides
- Cross-country skiing
- Snow-tubing
- Ice skating
- Archery

Those who want to explore the winter countryside on cross-country skis have a 30 km long network of trails available to them in Neukirchen and Bramberg.

- Are there winter hiking trails in Neukirchen and Bramberg?
Away from the pistes and yet right there in the ski area, a winter hiking trail leads through the magnificent white landscape. Hikes to the Steineralm or along the Sonnenweg are also popular.

- Are guided hikes offered?
Our hiking guide accompanies you on your hikes as part of our WildkogelAktiv program from Monday to Friday. They will also equip you with snowshoes and hiking poles.

- What can we do together with the kids?
Children taking a break from skiing can be found circling the ice rinks, but also snow tubing and playing at the Wennser Glacier in Bramberg. Popular excursion destinations include indoor pools in the neighboring towns of Wald and Mittersill. A horse-drawn sleigh ride is likewise guaranteed to put a sparkle in the eyes of all our younger winter guests.

- Is the Slide Hiking Path open?
The Slide Hiking Path is open in good weather during the same operating hours as the Wildkogelbahnbahn.

- Is there a fee for use of the Slide Hiking Path?
Use of the Slide Hiking Path itself is free of charge. There is solely a rental fee of € 3.00 per slide mat (which is mandatory).
- Is the mountain cart track open?
The mountain cart track is open during the same operating hours as the Smaragdbahn.

- Are dogs allowed to ride on the gondola?
Of course, dogs are also allowed on the gondola. One ride for your four-legged friend costs € 5.00.
- Which hikes are particularly suitable for children?
Children feel right at home amid the mountain landscape of the Wildkogel hiking area. Before setting off on one of the many family-friendly hiking tours, children may wish to let off steam in the Kogel-Mogel Adventure Arena. The Slide Hiking Path, with its 10 stainless steel slides, is a highlight of any family vacation. That said, hikes along the Emerald Trail into Habach Valley and the Venedigerweg to the Upper Sulzbach Valley are also very appealing to youngsters.
- Are there stroller-friendly hiking paths?
In the alpine hiking area of the Wildkogel, there are many stroller-friendly hiking paths. But the Emerald Trail to Habach Valley is also accessible with a stroller.
- Can you rent child carriers or buggies?
Guests from Neukirchen and Bramberg can borrow child carriers and buggies free of charge from the tourist offices. A refundable security deposit is required.

Nationalpark SommerCard
- Where can I obtain the Nationalpark SommerCard?
The Nationalpark SommerCard is included in the cost of your overnight stay at over 180 partner establishments in Neukirchen and Bramberg.
- Is the Nationalpark SommerCard also available for purchase?
The Nationalpark SommerCard is not available for purchase but is included in the overnight price at over 180 accommodation establishments in Neukirchen and Bramberg.
- Which accommodation establishments offer the Nationalpark SommerCard?

- How long is the Nationalpark SommerCard valid?
The Nationalpark SommerCard is valid for the entire duration of your stay between May 1 and October 31. The Nationalpark SommerCard is already valid upon your arrival by train or via the Grossglockner High Alpine Road/Gerlos Alpine Road.
- Unfortunately, my accommodation does not offer the Nationalpark SommerCard. Is there an alternative?
The SalzburgerLand Card may be purchased online, valid for six or twelve days.

- How much is the local tourism tax?
Neukirchen € 2.00 per person per night
Bramberg € 1.50 per person per night
The tourist tax is mandatory for people ages 15 and older

- Where are EV charging stations located?
Electric (EV) charging stations are located in the underground car park at the valley station of the Wildkogelbahn, in the Wildkogelbahn garage at Hotel DAS Neukirchen, at the car park right by the Smaragdbahn lifts, in the underground car park at the valley station of the Smaragdbahn lifts, at the Neukirchen village hall, at Red Zac Dankl in Neukirchen, and at the car park of Hotel Unterbrunn in Neukirchen.
