Hiking in the Alpine Regions of the Wildkogel

Enjoy breathtaking landscapes in the middle of the Kitzbühel Alps

Board the Wildkogelbahn lifts in Neukirchen or Bramberg, ride up to the mountain terminal at around 2100 meters above sea level, and first take a moment to appreciate the fantastic views from the Wildkogel of the many Hohe Tauern peaks which surround you. The Wildkogel's alpine hiking regions lie in the heart of the Kitzbühel Alps, offering scenic paths that you can easily walk while pushing a pram, along with intermediate and challenging hikes on the Wildkogel.

Once our nature explorers, big and small, have finished checking out all the attractions of Kogel-Mogel Adventure Arena – the gigantic playground right next to the mountain terminal of the Wildkogelbahn, including the Eagle’s Nest, Goliath Swing and more – it will be time to continue on to the next adventure:

The Panoramaweg is a path that takes you from the mountain terminal down to the mid-station – treating you to magical views of the 3000 m peaks inside Hohe Tauern National Park as well as the Grossvenediger. Once at the mid-station of the Wildkogelbahn, you will then receive your “License to Slide”. The Slide Path, which features 10 stainless-steel slides between 22 and 53 m in length, is certain to thrill everyone, not just the kids. You will slither through tubes, through hollows, over waves – while the freefall slide is sure to provoke screams of joy from big and small. At the end of the Slide Path next to Gasthof Stockenbaum, a pleasant hiking trail will take you on a walk lasting about 50 minutes back to the valley and Neukirchen.

The Smaragdbahn lift in Bramberg is also certain to kick your nature adven-tures into high gear: Located between the mountain terminal and mid-station is the exhilarating, curvy and roughly 4 km-long mountain-cart course. Ride all-terrain, three-wheel carts down to the mid-station. Enormous fun  you are sure to be anxious to repeat over and over again.

The Wildkogel lifts have been certified as mountain specialists for families:

Good news for recreational hikers, big and small, who value quality in combination with safety: As proud members of “Best Austrian Summer Lifts”, the Wildkogel lifts stand for genuine mountain experiences with a seal of quality. Certification only given to those lifts able to offer their guests one-of-a-kind holiday moments along with variety-packed offers and unforgettable attractions.
