Hiking in and around Neukirchen and Bramberg
Experience nature out on hikes rich in variety
Summertime hikes are the most beautiful way to experience the nature of the Hohe Tauern National Park Holiday Region up-close, and to collect unique, unforgettable moments during your holidays in the Wildkogel Arena. Lush alpine meadows, deep-blue mountain lakes and incomparable panoramas await you.
From the mountain terminal of the Wildkogel lifts, numerous hiking routes lead out through the alpine hiking areas of the Wildkogel, where you will have glorious views of the countless Hohe Tauern peaks during your hike. After a strenuous day on your feet, comfortable restaurants invite you to sit down, relax and enjoy a delicious selection of Pinzgau-style specialties. And afterwards, while the parents are soaking up the soothing sunshine at 2100 meters above sea level, the children can continue to have the times of their lives at the various play locations in the Kogel-Mogel Adventure Arena.
Aside from hikes in the alpine regions of the Wildkogel, you can also look forward to a variety of theme paths as well as hiking trails in the Lower and Upper Sulzbachtal valleys, in Habachtal, Trattenbach- and Dürnbachtal as well as in Mühlbachtal. From family hikes filled with new experiences, including various play and discovery stations, to moderately difficult hikes and challenging treks in the Wildkogel Arena: essentially everything is possible. Yet another highlight is a hike to the tallest waterfalls in Europe, the Krimml Waterfalls, which are just 10 km away.
The new Hohe Tauern Panorama Trail interconnects the mountain hiking paths surrounding Wildkogel-Arena to create one of the most beautiful long-distance hiking tours in the Alps. The 17 stages represent a total distance of 275 kilometers, 14,000 vertical meters and 96 hours of walking.
